The fuzzy predictive control algorithm and its application in thermal processcontrol are researched. Firstly, an adaptive predictive fuzzy controller based on thethought of variable universe is designed, which is suitable for the object with largeinertia and delay. It is applied to the simulation of 600MW boiler steam control systemand shows good control properties. Secondly, a complex thermal plant is modeled withan off-line T-S fuzzy identification algorithm. Moreover, in accordance with the problemthat the FCM algorithm is quite time-consuming and may not be suitable for on-linemodeling and control, the paper presents an improved on-line identifying algorithmbased on recursive fuzzy clustering method. The compare between fuzzy radius anddistance is introduced to the primary recursive fuzzy clustering algorithm. Theeffectiveness and practicability of this method are demonstrated by the simulation results.Finally, for multivariable control system, the constrained T-S fuzzy model generalizedpredictive control based on genetic algorithm is designed, which optimizes many kindsof objective functions and makes the system stabilize rapidly. The constrained T-S fuzzymodel generalized predictive control is applied to a certain 300MW oil fuel coordinatedcontrol system for the boiler-turbine unit and possesses the features of smaller overshoot,shorter adjusting time.
