The paper expounds the important position of the Tubular-joint in the application and development of the space structure,points out the theoretical and the practical value of study and analyze tubular joint in depth .The experiments of the joints is introduced. These tests are analyzed. Because of the complex structure,the complex state under press,combining these tests,the paper builds a simplified mechanics model for numerical analysis of the tubular joint .On the basis,an inelastic large deflection finite element is used to study the behavior of the tubular T-joint (square chord and circular braces). A four-nodes shell element in ANSYS is employed to simulate the joints in the analysis. The effect of various geometric parameters of the joint on its behavior and ultimate strength is investigated theoretically. Numerical studies show the joint failure mechanisms and plasticity spread with loading. Some useful conclusions are conducted.
