The paper expounds the important position of the Tubular-joint in the application and development of the space structure, points out the theoretical and the practical value of study and analyze tubular joint in depth. Because of the complex state under press, it is hardly possible to get the bearing capacity by theory analysis, to begin with an ideal elastic- plastic material is assumed, along with the material and geometry being considered nonlinear, on the basis, a four-nodes shell element in ANS YS is employed to simulate the joints in the analysis. The effect of various geometric parameters of the joint on its behavior and ultimate strength is investigated theoretically. Numerical studies show the joint failure mechanisms and plasticity spread with loading, and get the relation of the bearing capacity of K brace and T brace in the KT-joint (or K brace and X brace in the KX-joint). Some useful conclusions are conducted.
