Semi-active structure control has received significant attention in recent years because it can achieve the effect similar to that of active control while requiring small power sources. Magnetorheological dampers are semi-active control devices, which have the virtue of quick response, excellent stability and continually changing their state, and are a promising type of devices on structure vibration reduction. So far, the research is partial to designing resilience models for magnetorheological dampers, and is weakness in control strategy comparatively. Two aspects are not concerted with each other. This paper studies on the control strategy using magnetorheological dampers based on the resilience model Ou Jinping suggested, then set up the mathematics model for improved control strategy that utilize the dampers' character sufficiently, and also give a simple method to solve the problem. To validate the efficiency of the suggested control strategy, we design a calculation program and analysis an actual project. The result indicates that the suggested control strategy can get the better effect than that of common strategy, especially along with the performance of magnetorheological dampers improving. At the same time, this paper also analysis the project considering the time-lag factor. The calculation result indicate that the improved control strategy have good stability.
