Competition of mechanical product is fierily increasing, especially at the time when our country entered WTO. The product of machine in our country is confronting challenge which did not exist ego. Whether a mechanical product is popular in market depends much on optimum design and means. In the optimum design of mechanical product, people have been used to using penalty function, compound figure function and random searching function for a long time, but these methods have their own drawback such as optimum only existing in certain part, moreover convergence speed is slower than GA.Genetic Algorithm is a kind of adaptive, evolutionary and stochastic search strategy based on the principles of biologic evolvement and molecule genetics. In chief, GA uses population technology for searching answers and regards population as a row of answers about problems. GA generates some new individuals and a population by a series of heredity program such as selection, crossover and mutation. Thus GA makes population include optimum approximate answers. GA has been used in a lot of field, especially in searching the answers of problems, optimum and searching machine learning mental control and an artificial life simulation. GA has a lot of achievement inspiring people. Evolution Algorithm based on the GA has been a lot of heat point which enabled people to study and research.In this paper, the basic thought of GA in solving the one grade gear optimum design is introduced, and the optimum parameters of the gear were obtained in order to further testify and strengthen the application of GA in the field of mechanical optimum. During this procedure, GA program was realized with C programming language successfully.In this paper, reduction of vibration and noise about gear was also studied. Noise pollution, air pollution and water pollution have been regarded as the severest pollution in the' world. Noise extends its danger rang when industry develops increasingly. In China, noise has endangered people's health and abstracts more attention. In this paper, the theory of noise reduction was researched, damping can transforms such mechanical energy into heat energy that achieves noise reduction. On the lab of gear, searching sound level of noise analyst of frequent and zero of noise and knocking lab were done by electrical means in order to proof that ally damping plug is useful for noise reduction.
