Automatic Computer Moniter System Of Optic Network

Optic communications has become the most principle part of modern communication systems due to its prominent speciality. The primal obsolete maintenance means made by manual work are now unable to meet the need of various complex services. So that the Automatic Computer Monitoring System in optic network(abbr. ACMS),the scientific technic of maintenance and management, emerges as the times require.This article mainly relates to the general design, structures and functions of the ACMS. The technology of computer network together with optic fiber attenuation has been used in ACMS so as to deal with defaults betimes for us.In ACMS, the automatic testing of optical power combined with the Global Position System has also been applied. By the history information of computer software and database, ACMS is able to test ,index, analyze, and record the data information of optic fiber network, which really achieves to monitor the network realtime, all-sided and synthetically. The ACMS can make the long-distance, real-time and dynamic supervision on the optic network, which is convenient for immediate dealing with fault and cutting down the economic loss.MS collects the backscatter curve in the monitored optic fiber and sends test result to all MCs real time. The supported testing types in MS are On-demand testing, Routine testing, testing of optic power beyond threshold at receiving side, and so on. The test contents include: the optic fiber channel whole-distance transmission loss, the optic fiber optics length, optic fiber connection loss, optic attenuation coefficient at joints, the maximum dispersing reflection between S and R.In ACMS, C/S database structure is adopted, and this is benefit to the constructing of the monitoring system.ACMS, appraised by the Scientific Technology Committee in Chongqing, has been applied on national communication trunks.
