Chinese automobile industry at 21st century is facing more and more vigorous global market competition. China automobile enterprises have already changed their function from introducing, digesting and absorbing, to the independence of the new product development and the support technique of Variant Design gradually. The creative design system basing on the 3-D digital design is being in the formation, and national creative strategy is putting into practice. In this background, China automobile enterprises researching how to adopt domestic and international advanced computer aided technique, changing past only in brief introducing abroad automobile platform from the manufacturing point, gradually transferring to grasp every kind of design index essentially, and realizing real meaning to digest and absorb abroad automobile technique, gradually turning to the development of variant design of new product based on the above, have realistic and important meanings.According to this, this thesis is around the method how to utilize advanced Computer Aided Design technique and Computer Aided Engineering technique, to digest and absorb the advanced abroad automobile technique, then gradually to change to the independence of the new product development. At the same time, this thesis researches some problems occurred with the absorbing and digesting the abroad automobile technique using CAD and CAE technique:(1) The design methods of minimotor's key parts in the independent Variant Design are researched, the design process of key mini-car's parts in the independent Variant Design is brought up, the tools in Variant Design is analyzed.(2) With the methods of 3-D digital model reconstruction of automobile product for the research object, the 3-D digital model reconstruction method of automobile body is given based on the automobile's coordinate and the 3-D digital model reconstruction method of automobile chassis based on assemble, and the solving method in reconstructing 3-D digital model in a fragmentary data environment is researched using the combination actual application method.(3) The problem is analyzed which occurred with conversion from the geometric model to the Finite Element Method model. The solution to this problem with the thesis subject research is offered. The category and reason for Finite Element Method analysis error are analyzed, and the adaptive mesh method is researched.(4) The characteristics of automobile structural CAE are analyzed. The principle that should take the CAE and Computer Aided Test, CAE and theories analysis tocombine together are brought up. The result shows that the development of CAE is a long-term and systematical engineering. (5) Utilizing the CAD/ CAE technique, the Variant Design to a frame of a car is proceeded.(6) Finally, by putting the above subject into practice and researching, the combination of theories and practice is realized.
