The system simulation theory applied in Training Simulator for Substation is introduced. Based on the current development of domestic Training Simulator for Substation, this paper summarizes configuration modes, simulated objects and main functions of different Training Simulators for Substation. The disadvantages of current simulators are put forward and the reasons are analyzed accordingly. It is necessary to have a great quantity of data for modeling and carrying on simulation in Training Simulator for Substation. For the simulator developed based functions the visibility of data relations is ambiguity and redundant, which is so abstractive to developer. Therefore a data platform for Training Simulator for Substation is designed. The data platform, combined practically constructs process of a substation and the characteristic of data for simulation, based on object -oriented Analysis and Design used in the reusability of data model, can be used to constitute a hierarchical model. Through application of data templates the required data for simulation can be created effectively. In the data platform developers can assemble the needed equipments by use of flexible data components, achieved the data reuse in the process of data modeling. The evaluate method for patrol training of substation is researched based elemental technique. A evaluate formula which meets the objects of training is put forward through the analyses of patrol training items.
