| Four full-scale beam-column subassemblies containing reinforced concrete eccentric beam-column joints connecting spread-ended beam were tested and analysed in order to study the cyclic behavior of reinforced concrete eccentric beam-column joints connecting spread-ended beams and the relations of plastic hinges and reinforced concrete eccentric beam-column joints connecting spread-ended beams. The theoretical analyses and experimental results showed that eccentric joints connecting spread-ended beams can result in superior seismic performance compared with those eccentric joints connecting ordinary beams and the position of the plastic hinges would change when the width of the spread-ended beam near the joint was enlarged to a value. Also presented in this paper are the effect of reinforced concrete eccentric beam-column joints connecting spread-ended beams on the reinforced concrete frames and the reinforced concrete structures. |
