Turbocharging is not only an effective way to strengthen the engine, but also plays an important role in reducing the emission and the noise of the engine. Also, it can improve the efficiency of the engine. But there are some problems in normal turbocharger, for example, the low speed engine torque is deficiency, the engine can't works with full capacity when in part load, the transient response remains slow, To improve all the above, the variable geometry turbocharger(VGT) comes out to be an effective way. This topic builds a bridge between the VGT60 turbocharger and the YN4100QBZ diesel engine, and develops the hardware of the electronic control system for the VGT.In this paper, the design focus in the electronic control system, including :1. Processing circuits of the sensors.2. The driver circuit of the stepper-motor.3. The switching power for driving the stepper-motor.Furthermore, I take part in the VGT performance examination, from which I obtains the data map of vane position and boost pressure with economic rules.Finally, we do the matching experiment to validate whether the electronic control system works, the result indicates it really operated. Compared with the original engine, the VGT system improves the efficiency and dynamic of the engine, and also reduces the emission of the engine.
