Chongqing's traditional towns, having experienced hundreds of years of historical sediment, reflects the features of natural environment and social human backgounds of chongqing to some extent. Accordingly, the pertinent researches in architectural and environmental features of Chongqing's traditional towns have a special importance for the development of towns, architectural design and academic study.The thesis gives a brief introduction about the general situation of Chongqing's traditional towns, also, analyses and induces the architectural and environmental features from four aspects: layout mode, plane layout, space conformation and construction technology.Firstly, the thesis analyses to special natural and social environments, how the town's general layout reflects features of its natural and social adaption. Secondly, the thesis is mainly about four types of architecture in the town: shop-dwellings, works-dwellings, courtyards, temples and provincials. And taking people's corresponding living mode as the clue, it analyses the features of architecture plane layout in traditional town habitation. Thirdly, the thesis seeks the features of the towns' architecture space from three parts: the street space, the courtyard space, the interior space. Finally, the thesis analyses the features of construction technology including four main parts: the structure, the railings, the roof the clour and decoration.The thesis gives a summary after every part of the feature research of the above four aspects, and makes a overall summary at the end of it, aiming at providing theory and technology guide to some extent for relevant practice.
