Power system losses analysis and calculation has been paid much attention to all through. At present, there are various of Power losses analysis and calculation methods, but most of them do not consider the effect by uncertainty of power injection at buses. An effective method of probabilistic power flow to calculate power losses is proposed for the purpose of resolving it, through comparing existing methods. With the development of wheeling service in power market, the method has been applied to wheeling losses calculation in power market. The main content of this paper is as follows:1) This paper compares existing methods of power losses calculation and probabilistic power flow calculation. Although each method has its application area, it also exists some disadvantages. Consequently, A new method is proposed for applying to analysis and calculation of probabilistic power losses.2) Based on power probabilistic modeling in traditional power system, A new model named power probabilistic modeling in power market is proposed.3) This paper recommends transmission service, wheeling service, and analysis and calculation method of wheeling losses. Furthermore, an improvement based on routine Tracing Power Flow method is proposed for enhancing feasibility.
