This paper conducts research of sensitivity on the impact of the load characteristics and their parameters on the power system transient stability-the key issue of power system transient stability analysis. It performs study on the mechanism-based load models, makes comparisons of the different load models, and draws some important conclusions through some simulation projects with BPA, PSASP, FASTTST(EEAC).To sum up, the paper mainly includes the following contests:1. In accordance with the inaccuracy of the reactive power fitting results of the traditional mechanism-based load model, this paper proposes a new mechanism based load model LSVC_IM_DLM based on reactive power compensation. Simulation results show that the new model is of more pratctical valve with smaller dispersivity.2. This paper derivers the mutual conversion relations of load model parameters between BPA (Chinese version) and PSASP, and make comparions of them .3. This paper tests the validity of the EEAC with the interpolation of the difference equation load model. The results show that the difference equation load model interpolated to EEAC is correct, which provides a reliable guarantee for the following sensitivits analysis of the impact of load characteristics on the system stabilits.4. This paper presents the impact of load characteristics on the power system transient stability through a great deal of simulation projects, and studies the impact of the load models of different positions on the power system transient stability, the impact of static load characteristics on power system transient stability, the impact of the induction motor load characteristics on the system stability and impact of difference equations load characteristics on the system stability ,where this paper classifies the parameters of the load characteristics and explains the reason.
