The of calculation methods of shipping shaft torsional vibration although have been already mature because of at a period of time inside, domestic and international many scholar that very grow proceeds to this with the related expert in- depth research. But in recent years, along with the science technique, especially the fast and fierce development of the calculator technique, on the other hand, development of technique diesel engine too same continuous changes and improvements, research turn rounded to also appeared the new stand pointed with develop, but the domestic is however few someone proceeds in this realms further of research. This paper studies the calculation methods of shipping shaft torsional vibration using Holzer method, and put great emphasis on to study the basic process of calculation of shipping shaft torsional vibration and software designed, specially in the relation between the average indicate pressure and coefficient, between vector and coefficient proceeds and so on for deep into with the detailed discussion and research, rectified the some mistake, here foundation top, developed the new software of shipping shaft torsional vibration calculation.MAN B&W 10L90MC diesel engine is a new type of MAN diesel company and it has been used in large container vessel. In order to investigate into the characteristic of shaft torsional vibration when any single cylinder flames out and how that affects the main power propulsion system of a ship, the author puts forward a new way of calculation concerning the shaft torsional vibration when the mean indicated pressure of other cylinders remain unchanged. Calculation of MAN B&W 10L90MC diesel engine is taken as an example in the course of analysis and comparison and some relevant suggestions are made on its management.
