With seismic loading tests on multi-rib composite walls and integer building models, this paper researches comprehensively on practical design methods for the structure of multi-rib panel, and provides the theoretical foundation for engineering application of this structure system.First, failure pattern, deformation character, carrying capacity and rigidity of multi-rib panel with outer lightweight frame under seismic loading are analyzed synthetically in the paper. The research suggests that the failure process of the multi-ribbed composite walls under horizontal seismic loads is: the cracks of the infilled silicate bricks and the cracks of the inner rib beams and rib columns-the cracks of the outer frames; and that the walls can release energy by stages, showing perfect capacities of energy dissipation and collapse resistance.Second, on the base of large scale integer building model tests, anti-seismic property of structure of multi-rib panel is analyzed, and is contrasted with the property of the masonry structure. The research reveals that buildings in structure of multi-rib panel make shear deformation mainly, whose failure process is similar to the single composite panel And the tests result shows that, contracted to masonry structure, carrying capacity of buildings in this structure is 1.5 times and deformation capacity is about 3 times. In addition, thanks to the lower self-weight, the seismic response of the buildings is far lower than masonry structure.Combined with test research and current code, the practical design methods of the tier structure of multi-rib panel are researched chiefly. Basic principles in the process of structure conception design are achieved, practical computing formulas for rigidity and load-bearing of the structure of multi-rib panel are deduced, practical design methods and process for buildings in the structure are expatiated, and actual project is seismic calculated as an example in this paper.In this structure, connection formation between members is the key, which determines if the buildings act in accordance with the theoretical calculation model, and if the security of the buildings isguaranteed Through the problems occurred in design and construction of experimental projects, the connection formation is analyzed and summarized roundly.Finally, this paper evaluates the structure system of multi-rib panel, and brings up some correlative suggestion.
