Segmented Automotive Lighting is currently the most fashinable one in the world. It has the advantage of low position of lighting lamp and high performance of aerodynamics. The research to exploit this Automotive Lighting has been taken up in Japan , American for many years, and many kinds of products have been developed. Unfortunately, in China, neither automobile lighting research institute nor factory has taken command of the technology of designing Segmented Automotive Lighting independently. In the project, the principle of light distribution of Segmented Automotive Lighting is discussed.This thesis based on the design process of Segmented Automotive Lighting, adopted the mode of resolving problem step by step to organize the chapter content. Every chapter content is as follow:The first chapter talks about the significance and background of the research. The theory of light distribution with segmented Automotive Lamp is introduced. Based on the large national and foreign documents, the develop survey of segmentedAutomotive Lamp is introduced, and the advantages of segmented Automotive Lamp are presented. The total idea of segmented Automotive Lamp design is introduced in detail. Finally, the main research contexts and innovation are presented.In the second chapter, the bulb structure and the filament structure and the illuminant circs are presented. As follow, the theory of filament division is introduced. In the third section, three methods of filament division are presented: linearity division pillar division, helix division. In the fourth section, the three divisionmethods are compared.The third chapter introduces the category of Automotive illumination system, and research the ECE common circs and standard. As followed, the theory of functional area division is presented. In the third section, the assume of triangle cell division in functional area is presented.The fourth chapter introduces the method of triangle cell division, 2D equivalent parameter commutation is adopted. When introduced the cell division, the length of cell controlling is presented. In the second section, calculation the light shape is introduced, the concept of layer and the theory of perspective transform are adopted. As followed, research the light shape adjusting, and present the cutting out methods.The fifth chapter introduced the concept of visualization and current research and applied trend. The knowledge of OpenGL are introduced. The third section describes the process of software carried out based on the OpenGL. Finally, the function of 3D visualization module is listed.The sixth chapter summarizes the main fruits and prospects the future of the research.
