Distribution fault detection, islation and restoration system is an important part in the Distribution Management System(DMS) now. with the growing need of the reliability of power system, electricity utilities pay more attention to the fault detection, isolation and restoration.One of the impotant problem in the system is connectivity analysis, so a simplified model is introduced to characterizing distribution system. In the simplified model the feeder switches are regarded as the vertexes and the feeder lines as the arcs of a graph.A mixture approach for distribution fault location is presented. Its mathematic model is based on the fuzzy sets, and it can locate the fault arcs in despite of the uncertainty of the fault information.A service restoration model with priority customers is established too, and the model take the fact of the loads propotion into account.An algorithm for distribution fault management is introduced, which is on the basis of Tabu Search theory . The algorithm is high efficiency and high search speed.Finally, the function and database key problems of Distribution fault detection, islation and restoration system is presented.
