| A hydraulic-operated automatic gate is one that works automatically with the help of water pressure and impulsive force, and under certain water level or water level difference, it will open or close or keep balanced at a certain angle. Compared with other automatic gates operated by electricity or other powers, it has many advantages, such as no need for extra power, simple in structure, reliable and no man involved in operation, convenient in management and maintenance, low cost, etc. A flap valve used hi pumping station is a kind of hydraulic-operated automatic gate, which is similar to a hinged check valve. Because of their simple structure and reliability, being able to shorten the length of the outlet passage and facilitate the starting of pumping system in comparison with other cutoff schemes, Flap valves are widely adopted in pumping stations.Through the research and development of hydraulic-operated floating automatic gates used in Beijing municipal moat and the renovation practice in the design of air-filled floating flap valves in No. 1 Chuhe Pumping Station of Anhui province, the working characteristics and design methods of hydraulic-operated automatic gate are studied in this paper. Based on the research and model test, the head loss of hydraulic automatic gate is analyzed by both mathematical physics method and the equation of criterion, and the impulsive force and open angle of hydraulic automatic gate are researched. The open angle, flow, head loss and hydrodynamic pressure of the gate, are carefully observed in the model test. Characteristic curves with and without side piers are given for reference in engineering design.A program for the design and calculation of hydraulic-operated automatic gate is developed by means of Visual Basic. Data transfer is realized by utilizing the interfaces both between Visual Basic and Excel and between Visual Basic and AutoCAD, so the graphs can be generated and the data saved automatically to decrease the repeated work and improve the work efficiency. |
