The resonant flow was researched in this paper, which is an incompressible, inviscid fluid with surface tension and different variational bottoms; the effects of different variational walls on the nonlinear surface waves were analyzed. Firstly, fKdV equation for the nonlinear surface wave was obtained by perturbation technique from potential flow theory. Then, the numerical simulation has been made by pseudo-spectral method (PSM), and the waterfall plot of the wave was draw with Matlab. So the effects of different variational walls on the nonlinear surface waves could be analyzed. The positive wall's waves system can be viewed as a combination of the effect of forward-step forcing and backward-step forcing, and these two waves systems respectively radiate upstream and downstream without mutual interaction. For a negative wall, however, the result is opposite to the positive wall, and for a combined wall, it can be considered as the combination of a positive forcing and a negative one. About our conclusions, some are in agreement with classical ones, some verify the known experiment, and some must be tested further.Wu Zhengren(Thermal Power Engineering)Directed by Vice-Prof. Cheng Youliang...
