Plot Research On The Campus Landscape Space

The "landscape" in the University as an important part of the campus environment, memorizing the historical development of the campus, reflecting the characteristics of the spirit of campus culture, satisfying teachers and students’emotional needs, is the most attractive part of the campus space However, there are still doubts about where the sources of this charm are.Plot is a narrative expression. From ancient times till now, from the West to the East, whether it is literature, film, painting, music, or the place of human settlements, the "plot" slowly accumulated year after year, and finally stamped on the minds of human being. People will forget the details, but the plot remains the same, stirring the hearts, and this is the plot charm.What I thought above makes me figure it out in a sudden, and can we discuss the landscape in the campus related with the source of the charm? If there are co-related, how to show the "plot"? Can it solve "Charm missing" problem of the contemporary university campus landscape space? Can it give designers a new creative perspective? With these doubts, I began with this study.Derived from participation in several projects in the mentor’s firm, I was interested in designing the campus landscape. This paper refered five questions in Chapter one. Why do some domestic campus landscape is monotonous? What is the deomestic and international "Plot theory"? Where are the plot and the charming of World-class campus landscape? How many methods to create the plot? What kinds of circumstances should creative plot have?Based on the reading of the plot, campus landscape, landscape design theory, the author summarized with four conclusions:First of all, plot is the link to the experience of space, and at the same time providing new perspectives to create space. Secondly, design is actually a process of telling the story, that is arranged by the designer. Thirdly, plot ideas in writing view: the story should be added into life. The story should be filled with plots, and the plot must be romantic. That is to say an attractive campus must be a campus full of stories. Fourthly, the marriage of ecology and cultural is the highest level of design. This is main content of the second chapter.There are masses of universities bearing the characteristics of the landscape and plot around the world. And through the analysis of Harvard University, Stanford University, Tsinghua University, Peking University and Hunan University, the author understand more about the value of creating an attractive landscape and plot, then proposed the source of four "power":Only with story, could a landscape be attractive. Only with culture, could a landscape be infectious. Only with emotion, could a landscape have a sense of unity. Only with living, could a landscape be vitality. This is the main content of the third chapter.Discussing the basis of the second and third chapters, I propose a perspective in the fourth chapter boldly with the circumstances doctrine which under the university campus landscape design through writing a story, looking for the themes, interpreting the culture, releasing their feelings, embracing the nature, and keep up with the period to think and create.When shaping the plot is raised to the height of plot theory, the author refined four kinds of plots.First, historical plot, the source of plot construction, expresses the past cannot be forgot.Second, cultural plot, the soul of plot construction, expresses the accumulation should be inherited.Third, ecological plot, the nature of plot construction, expresses life belongs to the Mother Nature.Fourth, Dream plot, the power of plot construction, expresses pursuing dream should never stop. This is the core of the fifth chapter.I hope that the "plot theory" can be an evaluation method, a standard, even a topic between the landscape design and designers through interpreting and analyzing this article. The four plots, historical plot, cultural plot, ecological plot, and dream plot, when any two or more plots combined, there is a certain charm to ensure the landscape level.
