An active electromagnetism dynamic vibration absorber (EMDVA) which natural frequency can adjust automatically on-line is researched and designed in the paper. By studying the dynamics and electromagnetism, a new physical quantity--electromagnetism spring (EMS) is obtained, and then the paper concretely discusses the formation theory of the EMS and deduces its mathematics expression. Applying the control theory, the paper makes a comprehensive theory analysis on the realization of the EMS, combining the computer software emulation, discusses the influence of the control parameters and the EMDVA's structural parameter upon the EMS's performance and the methods to improve. At last, the dynamic response characteristic in time domain of the EMS on the frequency of the excitation force is given.The stiffness of EMS is controllable, and taking it as the kernel, an EMDVA which natural frequency can adjust according to the frequency of the excitation force is designed. The EMDVA can adjust its natural frequency to keep up with the frequency of the excitation force acted on the main mass, reach in the almost perfect status of dynamic harmonization absorption and obtain satisfactory absorption effect.
