With the development of the high-rise buildings height, the lateral loads become more important to the structural analysis and design. That must be considered in the structural design. When the frame-tube structure is not so strong, the refuge story and facility story and the reasonable horizontal cantilever should be considered to form the high-rise building having rigid strengthened story. The big horizontal cantilever may be between the tube and frame. The rigid ring strengthened stories may be set along the frame. So the relations between the tube and frame will be stronger. The overturn moment of the inner tube will be reduced by the axial stiff of circumjacent frame column, and the horizontal stiffness of the whole building will be enhanced. But setting of strengthened floor will result in the sudden variation of structural stiffness and internal force, and will come into being weal story. The yield mechanism will difficultly "story column, weak beam" and "strong in resistance of shear force, weak in resistance of bending moment".The mechanism of different strengthened story rigid cantilever styles is analyzed in this paper. Several strengthened story models in common use are compared. The reasonable number and stiffness strengthened stories optimal position in high-rise frame-core tube structure are gained, and the dynamic response of structure with stiffness strengthened stories is analyzed. The principles of reasonable setting and construction measures and design outlines of frame- tube structure with rigid strengthened story are presented in the seismic region.Finally, the design theories of stiffness strengthened story succeed to be applied on a project using the structural concept design in this paper. Refuge story is made feasible use, while the architecture space is not occupied. Stiffness strengthened story with "proper stiffness" is designed. The problem of the lateral stiffness insufficiency of the super high-rise building is solved, and the seismic ductility is increased in the seismic region. So the system of structure will be safe, economic and feasible, and the social effects and economic effects are gained. The results and conclusions of this paper can be referred by other projects.
