Vierendeel latticed shell, utilized the engineering principle of latticed bar in single-layer latticed shell, is a new type of space structures. It is not only simple and attractive, but also has the stability and bearing capacity of double-layer latticed shell, therefore it is an excellent type of new structure. As far as orthogonal vierendeel latticed shell was concerned, its characteristic under static loads and dynamic loads was analyzed systematically in this thesis.Firstly, it introduced the basic knowledge and process of using APDL description language in ANSYS to build spatial structure model, and several examples were demonstrated to explain the modeling process and method. By this means, it integrated modeling, solving, optimizing in ANSYS and illustrated the convenience of parametric configuration with APDL while doing the following work.Taking out a piece of frame in vierendeel latticed shell, analyzing the sameness and difference between vierendeel arc and full-web arc in mechanics characteristic. The results indicate that the vierendeel arc is similar to full-web arc in macro while they are different in local.By comparing the mechanics characteristic between orthogonal vierendeel dome and vierendeel arc, the results reveal that vierendeel dome has the advantages of vierendeel arc and shell structures. Influence to geometry nonlinear stability of orthogonal vierendeel dome by changing rise-to-span ratio, shell thickness and section area was studied and some useful conclusions were obtained for practical engineering.Dynamic characteristic of orthogonal vierendeel dome was discussed, and the influence on vibration characteristic acted by difference including rise-to-span ratio, shell thickness, section area and constraint condition was studied. Vibration shapes-separation-spectra-method and time-history method were adopted to analyze the dynamic response of orthogonal vierendeel dome under common earthquake. By comparing dynamic response in different direction and dimension seismic excitation, the value and distribution of dynamic internal force were obtained. In addition, the results from Vibration shapes-separation-spectra method and time-history method were compared, and the compared result is valuable for aseismatic design.Finally, some conclusions are summarized and the problems that should be studied further are put forward.
