Water turbine governor is an important automatic control equipment of hydroelectric generator unit. Parameter tuning of water turbine governor plays an important role in the safe and normal operation of the hydroelectric generator unit. It directly affects the quality and reliability of electricity provided by the power system. PID controllers are the most widely used controllers in the water turbine governor. This thesis introduces a method of using improved genetic algorithm to optimize theKp KI KD parameters.Main research points go here:1. Analyze the structure of water turbine governing system and construct the mathematical model of the governing system using PID regulation.2. Introduce the characteristics and operation mechanism of genetic algorithm.3. Implement genetic algorithm with a program using C language and use it to optimize the parameters of PID regulation.4. Analyze the results using SIMULINK.
