| In this paper , author analyzed and studied development situation of GIS in China and other countries and usage actuality , development foreground in power plant , compared the virtues and shortcomings of many methods of exploitation in GIS . On this basic, author discussed the designation thought and process combining the self characters of thermal system in power plant, then made the second exploitation based on MapX component and VC++. Author completed the designation and realization of power plant GIS. This software has perfect function which makes government more vivid . scientific, centralize and provides modern government method and decision , since promotes the working efficiency of power plant.
