The main shaft bearings of aircraft engine are key parts of plane, its reliability and life affect directly on the reliability and life of engine and even whole plane.This paper established a site data collect system and a data management system for the main shaft bearings of aircraft engine, collected a lot of datum and failure samples, through statistic analysis obtained the major failure model of the bearings and its principle of formation, and put some specific measures that can prevent bearing from failing in early stage to improve its reliability. We researched and established data model of the site data for the main shaft bearings, and appraised its reliability life by the surviving ratio method, the mean hitch method and the accumulated hitch method. The minimum square method was used in regressing analysis for the result of treatment in a supposed distribution function, the "d" examination method was used for Weibull distribution and Index distribution, and obtained the distribution type in the life of the main shaft bearings, appraised the reliability life, the mean life and the reliability in 500hours of the main shaft bearings with theoretical distribution function. We researched the peculiarity of the small and no loss in efficacy sample book, and established the reliability test method, advanced a check plan for reliability test meeting a specified reliability requirement of the main shaft bearings. The improved bearings were tested in 500h, 600h and 900h, and the results of the test were analyzed.
