Study On Exhaust Device Mat And Cigarette Filter Tip By Using Of Sepiolite

Sepiolite is an inorganic nonmetallic mine, it has special structure and composition, which provide it with good absorbability, rheological, catalyzing properties and heat-resistance, corocorrodibirity-proof, so it is used widely. To apply these properties, this paper studies on manufacturing exhaust device mat and cigarette filter tip by using of papermaking principal and equipments.In the first part of the paper, it is discussed about the development of automobile exhaust device mat with heat insulation and shock absorption functions. The mat, which is installed between the metal casing and ceramic honeycomb monolithic, is a important part of the exhaust device to insure its working life and safe working. Usually the mat is made of high temperature resistance fiber, latex, and intumescent material. It has the key functions of fixing and protecting the ceramic cellular part, as well as providing good heat resistance and seal in the whole system. And the best technological conditions concluded through the experiments are: G II (Sepiolide/Glassfiber) total fiber: 47%; Organic fiber: 3% (to fiber dosage); Sepiolide : Glassfiber=85 :15; Latex: 6% (B-3 type); Vermiculite: 47%(#2 treated with 7.5%NH4NO3 for 24 hr); CIV (Sepiolide/Cerimic fiber) total fiber: 46%; Organic fiber: 3% (to fiber dosage); Sepiolide : Glassfiber=60:40; Latex: 8% (B-3 type); Vermiculite: 46%(#2 treated with 7.5%NH4NO3 for 24 hr);The mat made by the above process conditions has good machining, tensile strengthen and expandable properties, lower cost as well. In addition, the product has validated by relevant customer.To manufacture the cigarette filter tip with the sepjolite is studied in the second section in the thesis. The filter tip is the important protective media for smokers because it can reduce the harmfulness by removing the harmful substance of cigarette. The best conditions of the experiment by using of softwood and sepiolite fiber to make the filter tip are: Beating degree: 13.2 OSR; Wet weight: 11.5g;Sepiolite : Softwood pulp = 40 : 60; CPAM: 3%; Starch: 1.5%;Following the above conditions, the paper has good air permeability and strength. Additionally, the sepiolite with excellent absorbability makes the paper has same good property as well.The paper studies the feasibility of using the miner fiber in papermaking, whichhas great realistic and economic interests for exploring the fiber types, developing the process and taking advantaging the rich sepiolite resources in our country.
