The impulse response analysis method in insulation fault detection is discussed in this paper. An impulse is applied on the winding, then a response attenuation wave will be received. Comparing this wave with the wave without fault, we can know whether this winding has fault or not. It can also be analyzed by comparing with FFT transform. On the base of theory analysis, three types insulation faults of stator winding are simulated with the 580KW E1002V-6ND-T 3-phase asynchronism motor. Through large amount of tests, data processing and comparing of wave, after one phase insulation winding and pressure of 380KW JS-136-4 generator, tests finally, We get some valuable conclusions. valuable conclusions are drawn. The first is that the impulse response analysis method is of high value in examining the insulation fault of stator winding. Liu Xianzhe (Electrical Engineering) Directed by prof.
