With the development of modern science and technology, a lot of sensitive electric equipments were widely applied. Voltage sags were considered as the mostly reason which are affect these electric equipment running in normal and safety. The correct detection of the voltage sag characteristics (its magnitude, duration and phase-angle jump appeared at the same time) is of great importance for the dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) that can effective solving the question of voltage sag. This thesis analyses the existing voltage sag detection methods and presents a new single-phase voltage detection method of conversion from theα-β to the d-q coordinates and its improved method. Simulinks validate real-time of this method, it appears that this method is applicable to DVR. Based on the theory method, it was set up that a integrated circuitry of detecting voltage sags. This circuitry is made up of digital signal processor (DSP) TMS320C671 chip as central processing unit.
