The paper discusses the design of the heat-treat ballast-water system which is applied on ship.Firstly, the paper introduces the environment pollution, which results from the unwanted organisms in ballast-water. Then it introduces the worldwide feedbacks for the pollution and the current ballast-water management methods, some of which are applied on ship and another of which are under studying.Secondly, the paper points out that it is feasible to heat the ballast water by harnessing the heat in cooling water system of marine diesel engines. The work process of engine is analyzed by ways of useful energy. The theory of how to manage the ballast water is introduced by use of the remaining heat of engine. At the same time, the useful remaining heat of the marine engine is calculated in this paper.Thirdly, the paper makes "Adin Lake" ship as the reconstructive object and analyzes the feasibility of rebuilding the pipeline of ballast water system and cooling water system. At the same time, the paper proposes the practical project including how to rebuild the ballast water system, cooling water system and ballast cabin. Finally, it is necessary that the engine office and deck office cooperate for using the remaining heat to manage ballast water. The paper suggests to accept this way for the ballast water management.
