The impact load stress on the working process of the ring valve of reciprocating compressor is analyzed in this paper. Firstly, this paper analyzes the stress of the straight impaction of the valve plate against the lift limiter and the valve seat on the working process of the ring valve, with the theory of sheet and mechanics of materials on the simplified assumption. And then, the impact load stress on the working process of the ring valve is analyzed by means of ANSYS/LS-DYNA, large-scale explicit dynamics finite element analysis software, with the three-dimensional dynamic finite element model. The results show that stress of the straight impaction of the valve plate against the lift limiter and the valve seat is lesser than the stress of the inclined impaction of the valve plate against the valve seat. The stress of the inclined impaction of the valve plate against the valve seat is the reason of the rupture of the valve plate. In the end, the influence of the thickness of the valve plate and the amplitude of the valve plate inclined motion on the impact load stress on the working process of the ring valve is educed in this paper by the comparison of the stress of the impaction with different parameter. The work of this paper will be useful for the reliability design of the ring valve of reciprocating compressor and the study on other types of valve.
