In this paper, firstly, the recent condition and perspective, the types of structures and the related theories are introduced. Secondly, the author's study is introduced.The paper is mainly concerned in the static and dynamic problems of box arch bridges. Firstly, spline method was used to establish the linear static equation on the base of the rigid equation of element. Then the linear static equation was established by QR-method as well as linear dynamic equation. And then the inner forces of box arch bridge were analyzed. The dynamic equation was solved by the method of no limited stabilization. At last, the relevant computer programs were completed with C language to solve a practical engineering problem. The static and seismic analysis was done, and the results were compared with the one of finite element analysis software, ANSYS. We can find that the results of QR-method have a high accuracy. The method doesn't adopt finite element method principle on theory, so it avoid some enormous difficulties and disadvantages resulted from traditional method. When QR-method is used to analyzing the long-span box arch bridges, the result show that this method is not only computed simply but also high accuracy and has better convergence performance, so it is a effective and economic new method.This paper not only has the theories signification but also has the practical value.
