This article introduce the experimental study and the development of Dimethyl Ether(DME) operated on diesel engine. DME' s basic physical and chemical properties are described. The study of both DME and diesel fueled ZS195 diesel engine . The main work are as follows:1 , According to the property of Dimethyl Ether, the experimental different fuel consisting of DME and diesel fueled blended at different pressure and temperature, and the volume variation of blends' fuel has been put out.2, Effects of main combustion system parameters such as plunger diameter, plunger stoke, fuel delivery advanced angle, valve opening pressure of nozzle on performance of DME engine have been extensively investigated. The parameters are optimized.3, Due to DME eroding rubber and low liquid viscosity, we have improved the sealing model of low pressure oil supply system, and devised high pressure oil bump lubrication system.4, The performance and emissions characteristics for both Dimethyl Ether(DME) and diesel fueled ZS195 diesel engine have been investigated. The experimental results show that in the power and torque ZS195 diesel engine fueled with low proportion DME is better than archetypal one. ZS195 diesel engine fueled with high proportion DME exhaust contains no smoke, noise also decreases , and the NOX exhaust obviously decreases.The investigation demonstrates that the Dimethyl Ether is the sort ofprospective fuel that can take the place of diesel fuel.
