As primary engineering measure, impermeable wall is applied broadly to reinforcing dike in middle-lower reaches of Yangtze River. Impermeable wall interdicts or weakens waterpower contact of seepage intercomplementarity between groundwater inside dike and river outside dike. Especially, mass continuous concrete wall may have made effect on groundwater power field, chemistry field and water resource. Because of obstructing by impermeable wall, groundwater drainaged long time brings about immersion, whether or not this will result in a series of water surroundings problems, such as farmland salinization, marsh, lowering of ground temperature and so on, which are all focused on by government, resident, experts in engineering, hydrogeology, agriculture and surroundings. The influence of cutting infiltration to groundwater surroundings by impermeable wall of dike in middle-lower reaches of Yangtze River is abroad, and also is a long process. The difficulties of this problem are as follows: there is a grate discrepancy of geology condition of dike in middle-lower reaches of Yangtze River, the facts which affect groundwater power field and water chemistry field not only include geologic structure of dike, topography and river network, precipitation infiltration and evaporation condition, but also are closely related to the design scheme of impermeable wall, construction method and construction quality.Based on hydrogeology and engineering geology reconnaissance, this problem constructs groundwater power field and system of chemistrycharacteristic through comprehensive analysis and research. Monitoring groundwater table and water quality by means of choosing representative dike section, the paper appraises and forecasts that the influence to groundwater surroundings by building impermeable wall is or not unhealthy include the lever and the scope.
