The measurement of light element in the fields of steel industry, metallurgy, geology and environmental protection is an important object. In this dissertation, a research of grazing x-ray fluorescence analysis has been carried out, and on this basis, an energy-dispersive method to measure soft x-ray fluorescence based on grazing emission has been studied. In this work, according to the feature of soft x-ray fluorescence, a setup has been established for the measurement of soft x-ray fluorescence in laboratory, which is calibrated by 55Fe. The setup is made of x-ray tube, fine tuning table, vacuum system, gas-flow proportional counter and multiple channel analysis. The influence arising from the anode voltage and gas pressure of gas-flow proportional counter and ambient temperature on the measuring error of the setup has been investigated by means of experiment. On the basis of above, the degree of precision and accuracy of the setup has been determined. The dependence of grazing emission x-ray fluorescence on the anode voltage of x-ray tube and on the grazing emission angle has been investigated by experiments. The experimental results demonstrate that the intensity of grazing emission x-ray fluorescence becomes more intensive with the higher anode voltage of x-ray tube or the bigger grazing emission angle, which provide a possibility for accelerating the process of grazing emission x-ray fluorescence analysis.
