Interrelated equipments constitute the power system, according to the economic&technical direction of production, transformations transportations distribution and consumption of electrical power, similarly, the substation is an assemblage of equipment for the purpose of switching and/or changing or regulating the voltage of electricity. substation-automatization(SA) fulfils such basic functions as : run-parameter supervision&acquisition of electrical-equipment and switch local or remote controls communication with relay-protections and superior control-center or other control sy stems, connection with IEDs and control of therm some simple data-management, etc. Modern SA demands that the information of relay-protection should be more real-time. With that, the substation intelligent data acquisition and management server should be developed with more advanced performances.With the development of embedded technology, constituting a new style server of Embedded Micro-Processor Unit (EMPU) seems to be a feasible good solution, the Substation Intelligent-integration And Data Service server ( SIADS ) for substation-automatization has been being developed to comprehensive automation equipments based on embedded micro-processor. It not only has traditional data acquisition and communication functions, but also satisfies real-time requirements in power system management.With analysis of the basics of data acquisition server in substation, this paper brings forward the hardware and software design and realization .
