B-mode ultrasound diagnosis, one of the most important diagnosis means, is used widely in medical field. The technology is developing towards improving the resolving power and extending the diagnosis scope. In ultrasonic imaging system the application of digital processing can improve the image quality, and give facilities for image processing.In this paper a design of a digital B scan system is proposed. The digital quadrature envelope detection is used to detect the envelope of ultrasound, and a simulated result is given. Based on the theory, a virtual ultrasonic imaging system is designed. A card based on PCI bus is designed to stimulate the transducer and acquire data. The appliance software processes the data and displays the imaging result. At the end of paper, some questions are proposed and the resolving methods are introduced, and the results of the experiment shows a good performance of this system.
