Digital Inspection is a high-tech with abroad foreground, it has important significance to the automatization and flexibility of inspect method.In the manufacture of automobile door, the precision is mainly influenced by the quality of door plate. Almost all the form error are come from design and manufacture process. Along with the develop of science technology and elevation of manufacture, the precision of inspection in automobile part are enhanceing gradually. But almost all the door plate are free-form surface, the shape is complexity, useing traditional tools to inspect is difficult and not exactitude. How to use another effective method to replace traditional way, evaluate inspecting precision is urgent problem to be solved.This paper has analysised the fundamental and application of reverse engineering, studied the key technology of reverse engineering of complicated surface, particularly expatiated a series of reverse engineering technology: inspection data obtain, data input, data pretreatment, surface reconstructed, surface analysis etc. provide theory and operate technology basement for appling reverse engineering to the inspection of door plate.Based on the study of the theory of error inspection and the technology of actual form inspection, author proposed that apply reverse engineering to the digital inspection of door plate. Based on reverse engineering, establish exactly surface matching, compare a stamping part with antetype in surfacer interface, to inspect the quality of stamping part, statistic analysis the inspection data, find the ultimate reason of quality fluctuate appeared. According the reason to adjust the die, clamp or others. Utilize VB, Matlab, Surfacer, author compile a information management system used for the inspection of door plate.
