The characteristics of voltage sags are analyzed first. Then the concept of load susceptibility to power quality is put forward and the factors affecting devices' susceptibility to voltage sags are analyzed roughly. And then the susceptibility of computers and consumer electronics' power supply and adjustable speed drives (ASDs) is analyzed in detail, and some examples of device susceptibility are simply discussed. Susceptibility curves are explicit graphic description of susceptibility. In this paper, the most widely used susceptibility curve, CBEMA curve, is anatomized. And the design, application and limitations of susceptibility curves are discussed at some length. Also, according to the relation between process susceptibility and individual device susceptibility, a method to define the overall susceptibility of multiple loads or a whole process is proposed. Along with the mass application of new susceptive devices, the in-depth research on susceptibility problems will be more significant in both theory and practice.
