Referring to the advanced technology and experience about automation in thermalpower plant at home and abroad, an applying model for computer monitoring systemwhose ratio between function and expenditure is very high is studied and the principlefor developing it is discussed in this paper. On the basis of these, since the reality thatinland thermal power plant computer monitoring systems at present have not enoughfunction on analysis and prediction of fault, the construction and the realizing methodof a set of fault diagnosing expert system for thermal equipments in thermal powerplant based on thermal parameters have been studied, furthermore, this paper affords anew reasoning mechanism on the basis of combination of pattern recognition andfuzzy reasoning and affords a set of method dealing with experience knowledge, theauthor has developed the software of this expert system. Finally, combing thechecking work, the application of this expert system is introduced.
