Study On Rational Logistics Management And The Effect On Transportation Pollution

The purpose of this paper is to reduce the plenty of air and noise pollution brought by the large amounts of traffic caused by logistics industry that is spring up day by day. Based on the productions of the correlative studies, the procedure we followed can be briefly described as:Firstly, the radical concepts and theory of logistics system planning are introduced. Secondly, the relation of logistics and transportation is clarified to indicate the features of logistics superior to the traditional transport. Thirdly, entered on the factors related to the amounts of traffic in logistics system planning, the measures which could reduce the amounts of logistics transportation are briefly discussed as following: reasonable site, layout, design and construction of the node facilities such as logistics center or distribution center; Shipment Consolidation and multi-modal container transport; the best transportation route and vehicle scheme; joint distribution; new ideas of inventory management and advanced technologies of logistics informationsystem; the third party logistics, etc.. Lastly, the effect on the environment caused by developing logistics and the preventative measures are analyzed.In conclusion, we could make the total amounts of transport to the best level by rational logistics measures. It could not only decrease logistics transportation cost, but also control the pollution caused by the logistics transport from the source so as to harmonize the logistics development and environmental protection.
