The Research On The Form And Meaning Of The Acient Town Of Hongjiang

The ancient town of Hongjiang is a spontaneous commercial town that forms in the southwest of Hunan,having the praise of "small Nanjing",also known as "the vivid textbook of our country's capitalist embryonic history ",which is a local ancient town that can be excavated to a deep grade .Cutting in terms of history of achitecture ,this text tries hard to proceed with its external material form characteristics,and then dig out the various inherent meanings. Through carrying on researches between macroscopic and micro levels,comparing crosswise with domestic and international different towns,and historically conjecturing its forming process,it is found that exactly the ancient particularity of natural and social factors in Hongjiang caused forming its own characteristic external material form.The natural factors include geographically key elements,pattern of geographical elements,climate,produce,position,etc.;The social factors include the urban origin, population make-up,starting point of culture, developing rule of the urban,urban functions,conditongs of government power, religious authority evolution , individual consciousness , mode of thought, view of nature , local social psychology etc.Comprehensive influence of such factors made the ancient town of Hongjiang become different from the cities planned under the thought of KaoGongJi 's in china,also different from the large amount of "organic towns"of the west forming in the course that the city rejuvenated at the Middle Ages when politics power split and religious authority was on.The ancient town of Hongjiang-"organic commercial town",which grew up under the rule of long-term feudalism in political unification in China,has its own characteritics.According to its history evolution,the forming process of these form characteristics had 2 kinds of possibilities- influenced mainly by commercial development and mainly by agricultural cultivation,between which the former had more possibilit.es.Finally,after considering synthetically the above-mentioned research results of "form and its meaning"and Hongjiang's current situation allowing of no optimist, this text tries putting forward some suggestions to Hongjiang's future in terms of "sustainable development of culture",hoping it is helpful to the reservation of Hongjiang's future,travelling plan and city planning etc.
