In recent years, the construction technology of cable-stayed bridge has obtained greatly development. So the research of long-span cable-stayed bridge's construction control technology is becoming more and more important. This paper is progressing the study about the critical technology on the practical project of Badong Yangzi River Bridge in Hubei province, and recommes the way how to put the Gray Predictive System into the application of long-span cable-stayed bridges' construction control.This paper explains the Gray Predictive System including its basic theory, technique, application step and the practical application. The mainly state variables, which affect the system's behavior, can be predicted through the establishment of gray predictive model. It is shown that model GM (1,1) can predict many random variables better during the construction process of cable-stayed bridge, e.g. the carriage's deformation and the beams' deflection when concrete is casted. And this system can simultaneously achieve the objective of "double control "on both the bridge's configuration and cable tension. So we can find a feasible way to establish a series of models for the construction control of cable-stayed bridge. This system is not only based on the pattern of cable-stayed bridges' construction development, but also can predict the trend of the construction, and it is of preferable precision too, so the thought and the method of control in this paper can be widely used. It has been verified by the control result of the Hubei Badong Yangzi River Bridge.The cable-stayed bridges' towers are various ,but the cross section type of the tower are mostly rectangle .The designer of Badong Bridge creatively used the D type shape section for the tower cross section ,which is novel and beautiful . In this paper ,we will compare the" D" type section tower to the visual rectangle section tower on their different effect of temperature. Through finite element analysis ,we indicate that the tension stress is occurred in both of these two type cross sections due to the temperature variability of sunlight .In this paper ,we advises that the designer should consider adequate temperature stress.
