The paper mainly includes two aspects studies. One is adaptability of bottomshearing force method in horizontal anti-seismic analysis of single storey unequalheight mill building. By respectively adopting bottom shearing force method andvibration separated method to calculate and analyze a practical mill building'shorizontal seismic capacity, it showed that there are a few errors in using shearingforce method. The paper analyzes the error's size, place, change pattern and effectelements; The second is about research on developing visual computer program ofresponse spectrum method based on vibration separated with Matlab's Guide toolbox.The conclusion is summarized as follows:1. There will cause some larger errors because of various factors in using shearing force method and corresponding coefficient in current case to analyze horizontal seismic of single storey unequal height mill building.2. The errors vary with structure and exterior environments. This change is more obvious in the low span.3. Main effect factors of errors include the fundamental self-vibration cycle of structure, proportion of flex stiffness to cutting stiffness, mass proportion of high span to low span, site type and the length of mill building.4. The paper gives a series of relationship charts between errors and effect factors. These trend charts provide reference for using reasonably this simple method and lay the foundation for further researching anti-seismic analysis simple method based on modify coefficient.5. Horizontal seismic analysis of single storey unequal height mill building should think about high-modal effect .The author advices preserving vibration separated method and seeking for proper approximate formula of solving high-modal during research of anti–seismic analysis simple method. Those is, firstly obtaining different vibrant type parameters by using approximate formula and then dropping out accurate solution by adopting SRSS method.6. Response spectrum method based on vibration separated is a fit means for horizontal seismic analysis of single storey unequal height mill building. In order to conveniently design and calculate with compute, visual anti-seismic analysis application software is developed with Matlab language in the research.7. Because of Matlab's powerful function, especially it's matrix operation function, it has the greater latent capacity in using structure dynamic and static analysis and developing structure visual computer software. The research not only provides theory base for studying seismic analysis simplemethod, but also supplies a good calculation tool for seismic analysis;At the sametime, this means adopting Matlab language as a development tool, which realizesprogram operation of response spectrum method based on vibration separated,inaugurates a better method for development of structure analysis software.
