With increasingly deeper research on the mechanical performance of materials and components, more and more engineering examples show that the study on static mechanical performance is not enough, the study on dynamical performance is essential. The testing machines develop continuously with the study on the mechanical performance of materials and components. Commonly used static testers can carry out only test and study on static mechanical performance, but not dynamic performance. The emergence of electro-hydraulic servo static and dynamic universal testing machines is known as one of three biggest contributions in the field of international researches on dynamics. The developed countries own the technologies of electro-hydraulic servo static and dynamic universal testing machines. However it is still a blank in our country. It is important for material research and national defense to have electro-hydraulic servo static and dynamic universal testing machines with our own intelligent properties. This project was set up in 1999 as a key project approved by the National Science and Technology Committee (project number 99-D064). On Dec. 5, 2001, it was appraised by specialists appointed by Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Bureau. The appraisal committee certified that "The developed tester has reasonable construction and reliable performance. The tester reaches the international advanced level. The techniques including clamping unit with pretension stress, high speed actuator with nonmetallic supports and forced clamping hydraulic clips are initiatives in China. The main creative work in this project includes the follows. The design of the clamping unit with pretension stress and elastic releasing mechanism for the crossing beam.High speed, quick response, low damping linear servo actuator with nonmetallic supports.The hydraulic forced clips for completing tension and compression tests within the full dynamic range.Research on and production of the servo pump station with constant pressure.Theoretic analyses and calculations of the following main units of PWS-100A Electro-Hydraulic Servo Dynamic and Static Universal Testing Machine have been conducted in this thesis. Clamping calculation of the machine crossing beam.Calculation of hydraulic forced clips.Theoretic analyses of linear servo actuator.Optimal matching design of the constant pressure servo pump station with the servo valvesThis project has won a Second Prize of Science & Technology Progress of Shandong Province. Based on these technical achievements the developed electro-hydraulic servo static and dynamic universal testing machines have been put into serial production and commercialized. The successful development and production of MODEL PWS-100A Electro-Hydraulic Servo Dynamic & Static Universal Testing Machines provides powerful means in the research on material mechanical performance and has made significant contribution to aviation, spaceflight and national defense of China.
