Fuel economy and exhaust emissions are the main research project of I. C. Engines. With the establishment of emissions regulation in China, it's the first aim of diesel engine manufacturers to lower the exhaust emissions. The major task of this paper is to study the influences of turbo-charging, EGR and optimal matching on engine performances, especially emissions based on a 6102BQ diesel engine manufactured by D.C.D. (Dongfeng Chaoyang Diesel Engine Corporation Ltd.), and to supply essential basis for lowering emissions of the diesel engine.The present development conditions of automotive diesel engines, and the effective measures to raise power and fuel economy, especially to lower emissions of diesel engines were first dealed with in this paper. Then, the main experimental research work of the paper was introduced as follows. Improving 6102BQ to 6102BZQ by using turbo-charging technology, testing of combustion process in all operating conditions with different fuel supply advance angles, injectors and injection pumps, and emissions test and optimal match were carried out in order to explore the influences of these systems and parameters on engine power, fuel economy and emissions and provide the basis for optimised design and rational match.On the basis of above-mentioned research, the experimental study of applying EGR technology to 6102BZQ engine was accomplished, and the law of the effect of EGR on the engine power, fuel economy and emissions was achieved.The theorical and experimental studies indicates that, give consideration to engine power and fuel economy , the efficiency of turbo-charger should be raised as high as possible to increase air supply for decreasing emissions . The aim of combustion process optimizing is to decrease pre-mixed burn proportion and to improve diffuse combustion . Decreasing advance has great part to lower NOx emission ,so it's feasible to lower NOx straightly by postponing fuel supply timing .At chosen fuel supply advance angle ( about 8ã‚œCA ) ,the maximum break pressure in-cylinder accords with design desire to guarantee the reliability of engine ,the maximum pressure increasing rate is smaller and favors decreasing of combustion noise , combustion lasting period is suitable to get well fuel economy .Rational fitting of fuel injection pump and injector is an important means to improve combustion process and lower emissions .The optimal EGR ratio should be chosen considering all of power ,fuel economy and emissions in all working conditions . You must consider the deterioration of others especially particulate when lowering NOx emission.
