Development Of Chinese Heavy Duty Vehicle And R&D Of WD615 Serial Diesel Engines

This paper concerns with the situation and trend of heavy duty (HD)vehicle of China. Sales of HD vehicle increase rapidly in the past 5 years. This trend may also exists in the future. Some HD Diesel engines and manufacturers are also discussed. Many engines for HD truck has met Euro II regulations in China now. For WD615 and WD618 serial engines some measures will be taken to meet strict emission standard and customer needs such as Euro III regulation,low fuel consumption and high reliability etc. In order to meet previous performance standard, we take according measures that include designing combustion system,high K coefficient ,low swirl rate,fuel injection system,reducing lubricating oil consumption,boosting pressure system,fuel advance,strengthen structure intensity and so on. At last we test engine's reliability and emission performance by a serial of experiments.
