Industrial X-ray Computed tomography is shortened from ICT.The progress and application of ICT is compelling ,especially in non-destructive testing and non-destructive evaluation.Western developed countries devote the study of ICT with a great deal of manpower and material resources. Though computer imaging technology plays an important role in the development of ICT,the crucial work is the progress of X-ray detector. The performance of X-ray detector limit the technology level of ICT system. Detector is one of the important technology(detector,imaging reconstruct , mechanism and auto-controlling technology).Detector technology ,that is transform ray signal with detected matter information into electricity signal.And detector technology direct influence the feature of X-CT system.In this paper,an novel X-ray detector was designed after detailed study the detector plans in home and overseas X-ICT systems,which based on CsI(Tl) scintillator and plane array CCD .The novel detector used optic fiber and optic fiber plate to pass information ,which scan detected matter in fan beam mode.To validate the feasibility of the novel detector ,Monte Carlo code was used to simulate the performance. Monte Carlo simulation preconditiones were as follows X-ray tube produced X-ray,the radius of columnar CsI(Tl) scintillator was 0.15cm, the different length of columnar CsI(Tl) scintillator were 0.3cm,0.5cm,1.0cm,1.5cm,the different distance of between X-ray and detector were 100cm,150cm. the different energy of X-ray were 120keV, 160keV, 220keV, 320keV,450keV.Simulation result indicate that: if the energy is within 450keV, the influence of the distance between X-ray and detector(1.5m) was little .the distance may suitably change with the detected matter.when scintillator diameter was fixed,the length was longer,the peak efficiency and total efficiency are higher.X ray energy may suitably change with the detected matter, ideal energy (the energy of X ray through matter)was 220keV if the scintillator was 1.5cm.When the energy was 220keV , the peak efficiency was 79.6% and total efficiency was 85%.Finally,the sensitive level of the novel detector was estimated theoretically.
