This paper researches the generic gearbox status monitoring and faults diagnosis system (GGBMDS) in order to avoid reiterating at gearbox monitor and faults diagnosis software development, founding gearbox monitor and faults diagnosis system fast, saving development time, reducing cost, and achieve gearbox monitor and faults diagnosis at premises of low cost.The paper introduces development process and actuality of status monitor and faults diagnosis and the complexion of site, analyses the frame structure and characteristics of various gearboxes, build the gearbox module for status monitor and faults diagnosis, advance the fundamental conception that structure acquired data by sample projects, research the compatibility of data acquire devices and GGBMDS adapt computer hardware and approach that all module of GGBMDS parallel action. At last develops the generic gearbox status monitor and faults diagnosis system (GGBMDS). The design idea, blue print, hardware, software, critical technology and application are also discussed in this paper.The system includes three main functions: 1) Monitoring the running status of gearbox. At the same time realizes data acquisition, real-time or historical data analysis, series of parameters setting, system parameters setting, data transport etc, all module can parallel action. 2) Within the data acquisition device management module, different data acquisition device can work compatibly by registering or unregistering data acquisition device. 3) Faults diagnosis module based on blur discursion and BP nerve network is used here for its preferable ability of faults diagnosing.There are seven technical characteristics in the system. 1)A gearbox model focus on status monitoring and faults diagnosis is constructed here, it enables the system can be used in various types of status monitoring and faults diagnosis of gearbox. 2) Status monitoring and data analysis module is separate with faults diagnosis module, and the two parts are realized as two separate processes, this way system cost is reduced while preferable independency and upgrading ability are promised. 3) Combining multiple threads with DMA to ensure real-time online monitoring. 4) With multiple thread and multi-view different modules run parallelly. 5) Three layers DLL is used to make different data acquisition devices work compatibly. 6)A new data format is defined,which features in its compatibility and Device-indepentent. 7) Special screening and DLL method enables an operator-friendly interface and software self-adapting to hardware.Experiments verify every function and the result shows that the targets have been reached. It satisfies the desire of users so gets some praise. During that time successfully achieve spot measure of Benfell frame of the Jianfeng Chemical Plant.
