| The thunder and lightning is a nature phenomenon going with strong discharge, and it is a serious nature disaster. At present, its generation cannot be controlled and prevented because of its supervoltage, large-current and instantaneous characteristic. Three kinds of physical phenomena such as electrostatic induction, strong electromagnetic induction field and radiant elctromagnetic wave will appear during the course of discharge when the building contacts to the thunder and lightning. When thunder and lightning occurs, the work of wireless communication and ED is seriously disturbed, which will result in the damage of some microelectronics instruments. All the above can not be avoided by using conventional lightning rod. There are many access channels of lightning when many electronic systems coexist in one building, for instance, power supply system, signal system, antenna and feeder system, and earth connection system. The coupling interaction will possibly take place in the electronic system if their installation is not reasonable. The damage of the microelectronics instruments caused by the thunder and lightning is very difficult to be avoided.Modern lightning protection is an advanced technology that is developed while the human fights with lightning disaster. The lighting protection methods are as follows: (1) To lead the majority of lightning current to the underground by connecting the current and earth (exterior protection); (2) To obstruct the overvoltage wave which overpasses the power and signal (inner protection and overvoltage protection); (3) To limit the surge overvoltage magnitude in the protected instrument (overvoltage protection). The theoretic and practice show that the lightning protection of electronic information system is a systematic engineering. The exterior protection and interior protection should be constituted as an integer. There are six main means of lightning protection: direct stroke lightning protection technique, earth connection technique, iso-electric level connection technique, shield technique, installing electronic arrester and synthetical wire layout technique. These means are helpful to prevent from damage of building and industrial equipment, especially of microelectronic instruments.ABSTRACTAn economical, reasonable and effective lightning protection method is presented in this paper. Firstly, a group of lightning protection instruments are installed in the protected region or protected object. Then an engineering network is designed according to the principle of direct stroke lightning protection, induction protection and lightning wave, etc. As a result, the lightning energy is depleted by leading, obstructing, dispersing and releasing technique.The modern synthetical lightning protection technique discussed in this paper has been applied in lightning protection for oil region in refinery factory successfully. |
